Ouch, That Hurt!
Feb 13, 2010
I've never had a major bone in my body broken and I praise God for it. I have, however, dislocated a finger a time or two and was forced to reset it, which was quite painful to say the least. When I consider our bone structure and how the bone serves the body in general, it inevitably leads me to consider the inner structure of our mind, culture and community.
I am convinced that we are suffering from a number of dislocated and broken bones within our individual minds, our overall culture and certainly our community. I am as convinced that the process of resetting those broken and dislocated bones is a painful and arduous task, more often than not, met with resistance, ridicule and persecution of the one resetting the bone.
The bone structure to which I am referring are the principles and daily practices that we live and govern ourselves by. One only has to look in the mirror of God's word to discover that many of the philosophies by which we live have left us dislocated and broken. Unfortunately, when a bone is broken in the natural, if left unattended - it will heal improperly, forcing the individual to make certain adjustments in order to accommodate the malady.
This is as true with us spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. Instead of availing ourselves to proper alignment, which is painful, we ignore the injury to our mental bone structure, our emotional bone structure, and our spiritual bone structure, thus allowing it to heal improperly and forcing us to adjust accordingly.
I'm not a physician but I'm told that if this is the case in our physical bodies, the doctor is now forced to rebreak the bone in order to set it properly so that the body can function properly. Ouch! Just the thought of that hurts!
- When was the last time you were forced to have a mental, emotional, and or spiritual bone rebroken and then reset?
- Who do you suppose is qualified and charged with the duties of breaking and resetting your bones?
- Do you expect to be healed and realigned without any pain or discomfort? Or have you decided that you like yourself just the way you are, even if it means living with a limp and endangering the health and effectiveness of the rest of the body?
There's so much more I would love to say in hopes of provoking your insightful responses but I'll relent and enjoy what you have to say about the matter. Talk to me!

Pastor Jordan,
Wow, that's a mouthful there that was said but it all made sense to me. I'm going to focus on question number 2 for a minute. When you ask who is qualified and charged, I believe that we ourselves are responsible. The reason I feel this way is because we know exactly what bones are broken in us and exactly how they were broken. But so often times we expect others to come around and fix those things for us. I feel as though we ignore the signs though because although the bone is broken, the thing that caused the bones to break feels so good to the flesh. We tend to ignore the pain of the broken bone because of the temporary satisfaction that we are receiving from it. It isn't until the pain becomes so unbearable i.e we become burnt out, that we start trying to fix the problem. Many times that simply means that we turn to God for forgiveness and repentance and ask Him to heal us for all those things.
I don't know if any of that made sense but it did to me..lol
I anticipate your response.

This is a very compelling topic to say the least. If I be honest, I must say very recently I have had mental and emotional bones broken and reset. I agree with Roderick. Although God may use the preacher- pastor to shed light on the area that has the fracture or broken bones, it becomes our duty to make the adjustments. It may also be agrued that the preacher-pastor is making the adjustments when he shed light on the areas which we maybe obvious to. I would like to think the realignment could come without pain or discomfort but that has not been the case. Although I am constantly seeking growth and promotion, it has been far from an easy task. Being focused on my expected end and dedicated to securing the promises of God has been my catalyst to stay the course and endure the pain of being uncomfortable as the truths of God's word serve to make me better.

Spirtual, mental and emotional brokeness can happen to any of us at any time. Fortunately Ive hadnt had to have my spiritual bones broken and reset although Ive experienced spiritual stress enough to break any bone!
Secondly, not everyone is qualified as spiritual physicians to break and reset spiritual bones and many are involved in spiritual malpractice and are actually causing more harm to the mind, spirit and emotions of the people that are seeking their help.
Pain and discomfort are part of the process of realignment and spiritual healing. Anyone who is content with the way they are spiritually and see no need for improvement is fooling themselves and suffering from spiritual cancer. Only the uncrompromised Word of God can bring total spiritual healing through the regenerating power of God's Holy Spirit.
Spiritually, Im ultra conservative and guard my heart and spiritual well being from those I percieve to engage in this spiritual malpractice. The Bible tells us "Is there anyone sick among you? let them call the Elders or the older men of the church to pray for them. These older men should be qualified and non biased if spiritually healing is to be effective.

No I don't want the bones broken...that would be painful! That's what my flesh says but my spiritman says, "break them all!" How rude? Being made over Bishop is easier said than done, and often times more painful than one expects, honestly, I would rather it be done more sooner than later but argue that position with my flesh...(which is unrelenting and deFiantly opposing)

My medical specialty at the moment is bones. Bones are not meant to be broken, your bones are meant to support you for a lifetime. There are two reasons in which a bone would be broken, a traumatic event to the body or a born or developed deformity. Submission to have a bone broken and reset would generally come for cosmetic reasons. Now if a bone is broken by a daily routine that means there is a vitamin and mineral deficiency in the body. This means that over a period of time the marrow of the bones is being lost at a faster pace than it is being replaced and we call this medical term osteoporosis. The bone looks strong but the inner make up has holes and is often hallow on the inside thus making it vulnerable to life’s daily routines, that can cause it to break with a mere cough or sudden turn. We can prevent this bone breakage if caught early by increasing calcium and adding vitamin D to absorb the calcium in the bone. You can get your calcium and vitamin D through supplements or through increase consumption of foods that carry these bands of nutrients you need. If you are diagnosed with bone loss (osteoporosis) and are past the prevention stage we can restore strength and reverse loss to the bone by prescribe a once a week, once a month drug that speed up the slowed down process of bone replacement. Guess what if your system can not tolerate those drugs due to the gastric irritation or you just can’t remember to take the medicine we have a once a year IV medication that can be administered but our main focus and concern is to not break the structure of the bones because it affect your life expectancy, it’s one of the leading causes of death in our senior citizen and accounts for $13 billion dollars spent every year to treat. To answer your questions: {thought I forgot:-)}
1. I am in prevention mode daily, I am taking in the word applying the holy spirit to help me absorb the word so the marrow in my bones are replaced as they should be. I don’t want my bones broken at all. (I’m vain I know it)
2. If I must be broken due to a traumatic situation or deformity please give me the orthopedic physician. One who’s been around and knows exactly where to break the bone and how to set. I’ll take the watchman over my soul appointed by God. That means he has been referred, a specialist and meets the qualifications to get the job done with precision, timeliness and less pain as possible.
3. I like who I am but I am willing to submit myself to be broken if the results are going to make me better and improve the overall health of my body, mind, spirit make me effective and give me some cosmetic enhancement too. (LOL).

Grace and Peace be unto you, from God the father and our lord and saviour Jesus christ.Bishop i must say like you i have never experience abroken bone in the natural.mentally and spiritually i have, even currently and this is not a feel good experience even though i know it is for my good it truly hurts.all the learning or should i say most of what i learned during my life time has been wrong or i misunderstood.it hurts to even to admit that what i thought to be true was false.and because it was a part of my belief and who i thought i was,it hurts to have to be seperated from that.i believe Gtheod is the only one who can break me and reset me back to where He wants me to be.like i said it does not feel good at all,and some times i even resist, which makes the pain worst, the bottom line through it all being broken is not pleasurable, but after God resets me
